Ci permit with foreign employer(telework)

Hi,

My wife moved to Geneva for a job with the UN, and I will be joining her in April.

I am currently working for a company based in the UK and my employer is fine with me teleworking from Geneva, with the precondition that I can sort out my Swiss work permit.

I know it takes about 1 month to get a CDL and then probably another month to apply for Ci permit.

Does that mean I have to suspend my current employment contract for 1-2 month before I get my Ci permit? Is there a possibility to apply for CDL and Ci permit at the same time, or at least get a temporary permit to work in Switzerland?

I am still waiting for advice from UN HR, and in the meantime, any advice would be much appreciated.

Be careful with taxes as your income is not exempt from taxes like your wife’s. In particular your rate of taxation will be based on your combined income although only your income will be taxed.
