and the Millefoglie in Italy may be closer
the "millefeuille" possibly just is a copy of the Ggrämschnitte !
Sorry, I first of all do not know what a "Napoleon" is, and as mentioned I find the "Ggräämschnitte" rather difficult to tackle. It may look awesome and it may be really delicious but it is rather a bit a difficult thing ....... well, my older brother (gone unfortunately) always tackled them very well while I always failed
Sorry, a Napoleon is the same as a Mille-feuille (as someone else posted after me). Yes, they are difficult to eat, but I really love them!
Sorry to hear about your brother; as him, I also have mastered the technique to eat these pastries properly. Yummy!
Well, my brother, some 5 months before the end told me, beside his final wishes, not to mourn for him but rather to remember his jokes and what we have had together and to upkeep the good memories, and that he felt with Evita Peron "do not cry for me ..." and we conquered one of his very expansive but supreme bottles of white Burgundy wine and of course talked about such essential questions like how the choice of wines is "on the other side / in heaven" and what happens if you drink wine without having a body ?!
