Discuss with them, how they came to the conclusion it is the renters fault. Ask for proof.

They sent me the Mail exchange with the specialist. They asked the company, and they told them that since they are only in my apartment and the kind of roach it has to be a tennants fault.
But they only asked once the work where finished. In my opinion they had to ask at the beginning, since the guy even came the first time analyzed everything and then talked with the landlords, before starting the works.
At this time they should have told me so that i could do something.
They always first analyze as there are different approaches on different type of "animals". Also, it needs to be done professionally once the problem arises, there is nothing you can do really and it can't be put off or the rest of the house will be infected.
So, talk to the company and let them explain why they blame it on you. If it's cockroaches (most likely in Switzerland it's something else, there are tons of kinds) they're known to come through pipes and stuff when it's hot. It also depends whether you're ground floor or top. Have you travelled?
I have lots of experience with this. Not from my house but when ever new people would arrive from abroad, it could happen they'd bring them in with their luggage. It can also happen when you buy full crates of veggies or fruit somewhere, they're in the crates. Etc. etc.
I can only repeat: Talk to landlord (and the company who solved the problem). Find a solution together, don't start fighting straight away. I take it they came to analyze, then to set the traps or similar and came again to pick them up again?
Yeah i will call them monday. I mean i am open to split the costs, i just feel a bit pissed cause they arranged and already payed everything and then months later they send the bill and blame me. I mean it probably even is my fault thats ok. But if i knew i had to pay that much i would have asked another offer at least. Sorry for my little rant.

By the way, if you scroll down on this site (never mind it's the Austrian one, the Swiss one is busy right now ), you see what bug is what. They used to ask us to catch one, so the whole procedure could be shortened by immediately knowing (them) what they come to fight. Also some are just summer-pests which have to be dealt with but are nobody's fault really.
I would still call the company and ask what exactly you had in your flat and why your landlord claims it's your fault. (Friendly asking for information ), so you know what you're talking about when you approach your landlord.

With the warm Winter and hot Summer, I seem to see an uptick in cockroach-visibility outside.
It's only a question of time before they find their way into houses and apartments.
They have survived two extinction-level events during their time on earth, they're not going to let this opportunity go to waste (pun intended).
Unfortunately it's something that is easy to blame on the tenant. In apartments it's usually the blatella germanica which eats any kind of starch so they can say you don't clean enough even though it's often just bad luck or the fault of some neighbour that doesn't care. If you live in an apartment you can get rid of them by yourself with stuff you buy at the DIY shop that is not toxic for humans.
The biggest city war of all time: humans versus cockroaches...if insecticide not sprayed at once in all block, cockroaches never disappear...vents and cable conduit are like highways for them...
Since I live in second floor apartment have had only limited amount of unwanted quests, mostly mosquitoes, ants sometimes, then those noisy flying insects that sound like a fly in steroids but unless I am completely mistaken, just found a cockroach on my kitchen on its way to cabinet under kitchen sink. ab 0.5-1cm, black 6 leg bastard.
Never had those in my life and could have lived without this experience. Absolutely no idea where they could have come from as have not traveled anywhere and lived in same place for years.
Maybe through an open window. Keep an eye out - if it repeats & you rent, call the landlord alternatively an exterminator if you own your place.
There are also Waldschaben in the summer that look like roaches, but dont go on food and die after few days inside.
Uploading 2 pics in case there is some roach/bug expert in here as was able to catch one. It does not fully look like german cockroach, its bit too small (under 1cm), I just found it now in middle of the day, its not super fast (much faster than normal bugs thou but still slow enough it was easy to catch). Then again, it lives in cabinet under kitchen sink where pipes are and does not fly so have no idea what else could it be.
not an expert but looks nothing like a cockroach to me based on those i've seen in london and new york (never seen one in switzerland).
The ones Ive seen in Spain were also 3 times bigger but world of internet told me the german version is much smaller.
Agree that's not a cockroach, it's probably some kind of hemiptera. Also it looks damaged and probably came in because of the warmth like many insects in this season.
You will recognize a cockroach from their antennae and how they move them, it's an instant feeling of disgust.
either it's a rare cockroach, otherwise normally they have filiform antennae which has much shorter tiny tiny segments than in the photos...
