I am desperately trying to contact/ make an appointment with the SAM (Service d'assurance maladie) in Geneva. So far, I have tried calling, sending an email and even sending a letter by post but with no success.
Google reviews are all negative in terms of contacting them. Have you ever been able to successfully communicate with them before?
Yes, this is what I would do- in an emergency as this. And with an interpreter, friend, colleague or professional, if my French was not up to such a specialised situation.
For anyone in Geneva, there is a contact form at the reception where you have to fill in your contact details and the purpose of your request to contact SAM. An officer calls you within 3 working days. But they only speaks French.
A lady spoke to me and I explained why I wanted to contact SAM. This was to cancel an insurance policy I was signed up for by SAM even after I have sent my documents by post. She understood and they sent me the cancellation after 5 days.
Great news and thanks for updating. So many people post issues and ask for advice here, and then we never hear what happens. It can be useful for others to know about the end result.
