If someone is unhappy why not migrate to Cumulus Credit card?
I use it for a long time, they come from Cembra.
WebUI is not great but it is functional and you can set basic things there (like paper invoice or lackof it). Email notifications about invoices are always coming.
Overall it does it's job, I don't have complaints about it after a few years.
Maybe I missed that communication but is Coop Supercard now solely issued by TopCard? I still have the one issued by Swisscard and I wonder if I will be able to get a new one from Swisscard free of charge when old one expires?
When does it expire? Ours was changed automatically to a Visa Cashback a few months before expiration. We switched to TopCard without too much hassle and been happy since but also have not had too many issues to deal with.
We also have TopCard one. Based on the feedback on this thread we would like to stay with Swisscard only (if it is still free of charge) and cancel TopCard.
You can stay with them all right, but it will no longer be a Supercard. If that is fine for you then no issue. If you want a Supercard Credit Card then only Top Card has that.
I immediately struggled with topcard so I just canceled that card and when shopping in migros (where I'm already getting the cumulus points by scanning the bar, so you gain nothing by using their credit card) I used the 0.25% cashback they replaced it with.
However, 0.25% is worse than 0.33% (which is the cashback rate you get if you convert the points into money to spend at migros or coop).
Meanwhile, swisscard offers an american express cashback that beats both the cumulus and the supercard, with 0.5%.
So I still gather all my points at migros and coop of course, but pay only with the amex where I can (which is all the big supermarkets at a minimum).
Where I can't, I use the cumulus, which is on rare occasions with covid. A shame that it doesn't support ebill.
This is for in-land of course, abroad the equation changes completely and you get shafted with the amex. Cashback is secondary there. I'm going to use my neon card in the future when abroad, revolut to draw cash, cumulus when it really needs to be a credit card and the revolut doesn't do the trick.
Here we are December 2021, I have moved a couple of times, and am away from Switzerland, having happily used the Swisscard (not Topcard) since the change. Last week a card- not ordered from Topcard- arrived at my old address 😖
Why, after all these years?
I got hold of Service who asked me the card number? How do I know, I don't have or want the card.
Eventually the card was cancelled.
Now I have to write to cancel a card I never ordered. What a waste of time and money. Will I be reimbursed for this? Of course not.
