Non-EU friends living in their home non-EU country are hoping to immigrate to the UK. They have contacts there and the possibility of a job - so this question is not about those aspects.
They're under the impression that part of their permit application process would entail demonstrating their good credit-rating to the UK authorities, and/or even that the granting of the permit would depend upon their credit-rating in their current place of residence.
I hadn't heard of that criterion before, and can't seem to find it online. Could anyone here, perhaps in/from the UK, shed any light on the accuracy (or perhaps alternative interpretation) of this information, please? Thank you.
Unfortunately, I don't know the offical names of the visas or permits of the UK. In part it is a type of family reunification (engaged couple), plus there is a job offer on the table, although the employer is small (= not one with a lot of negotiating clout). In any case the idea is not for a visit, but for permanent immigration into the UK.
