Dairy Free Milk Substitutes

I love milk (on cereal and in tea and coffee) but read lots about lactose and would like to give it up; I have tried in the past rice milk, soy milk, almond milk and found them all waxy/chalky tasting and not tasting good like milk! I had given up. But after reading this thread I went and bought the lactose-free milk from coop and migros (tried one of each). Both were fine, I could not taste the difference (y) If you want something milky-tasting and not wierd tasting, forget all the rice and almond jizz and just get lactose free milk x

I love Free From also, from Coop as I said in my previous post .

I used to drink a ton on milk while I was little because my grandma had cows.

But when I came here, suddenly, my stomach and my nose just couldn't accept the milk anymore which was a problem for me as I love milk. So for years I didn't drink any milk. But I also didn't want to drink the so called ''healthy'' rice, almond and soy milk-- I read the labels on the soy, rice and almond milk and they are full of stuffs that shouldn't be there - sunflower oil? sugar? What for?

So, I found the free lactose from Coop few weeks ago and I love it.

I didn't try the one from Migros yet.

Gosh that's peculiar isn't it, I wonder why you had a reaaction to the milk here I don't seem to have any effects from it but seem to keep reading about lactose being unnatural for adult humans, I wanted to see if anything would happen if I switched! (nothing obvious yet but only 3 days in!) both are very good I think and close but if I had to choose I'd pick the coop one, it seems to be a bit creamier

If intended for coffee, there is a non-dairy coffee creamer in powder form - the only brand I have seen around is "Gina" from Otto grocery section. I cant find other brands like Nestle Coffeemate in Switzerland.

I know! I went for an allergy test and the test showed that I have lactose intolerance...really? I have been drinking milk and eating cheese all my life, without issues. But as soon as I came here, something changed: I couldn't smell the milk anymore or taste it (I was saying it smells like cow...) . And some weird side effects . Don't know...I still eat cheese, rarely...and just lactose free milk. And a lot of normal Mozzarella. My body can't take roggenmehl either, something I never had issues before. No gluten allergy (from the test 4 yrs ago). But cereal bread and especially Roggen (Rye) gives me red patches on my neck and hands. So, my body is just crazy .
