Doctor appointments in the first 3 months

We are scheduling a pediatrician appointment while kid's health insurance application isn't processed yet. I know our "future" insurance starts from the day we entered the country, but I still wanted to make sure I don't do something that would make them reject the claims afterwards.

My initial plan was to ask for telemedicine model insurance (first call insurance, then schedule doctor appointment) and now we are going to a pediatrician without calling the insurance (as they are still not officially our insurance). Should I change to standard model, only for the reason of them accepting this claim?

Anything else to think about?

Thanks

Think through whether the telmed model is worth it for children. The difference in premium is often so little that it's not worth the hassle (IMHO).
