Is there a charity in the Geneva area that I can donated used medical supplies to? I have some leg and ankle braces, crutches, and other gear that are in perfectly fine condition that I would prefer not to throw away. Thanks for the help.
I'd wonder how it works on the legal and regulation side when a medical device has not been controlled. Typically there is a chain of custody until provided to the end user with instructions for use.
A solid option is to wait until winter and clear the salt from a path, layer up some lovely ice and leave your bits and bobs close by.
I'd keep the ankle brace for a while. Tendon injuries take a long time to heal. The person may feel OK for a month, then a bad step and pain is back. Wearing the brace for a few more days feels so good. It literally supports you to keep going.
The Red Cross will certainly take the crutches but I’m not sure about other stuff.
It’s worth asking them though.
I agree with this.
If anyone has such medical supplies to donate, in the Zurich area, I'd gladly pass them on to a nurse who lives here and who is establishing a centre in an African country, to lend out such.
I trotted down my street to give a pair of crutches to the Ukrainian effort in my area.
Caritas or Renfile might take them, or they could at least tell you which charity collects such things. Otherwise HUG probably has a service which hands on gently-used medical supplies.
Second BM's suggestion of the Red Cross as well.
