Early C EU process

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share my journey in the hopes it helps anyone out there.

I am a HUN national, which means in Switzerland I dont get an automatic C permit after 5 or 10 years.

I also reside in Kanton Zurich.

I collected the following documents in a file, gave it in to my Geminde, ticked the C application and 4 weeks later got it.

You have to mention that you are applying early in the Bemerkung section of the form which will be given to you from the Gemeinde.

1. letter from the employer stating date of employment, and salary

2. employment contract

3. german language certificate (FIDE was the quickest, telc and goete work too). A2 written, B1 oral. if you dont have them, assume you will need 6 weeks from the moment you do the exam till you get the certificate.

4. passport copy

5. rental contract

6. diplomas (school, university etc)

7. last wage certificate

8. copy of current residence permit

9. 2 reference letters (i submitted 5) from people that know you that are swiss and that can vouch that you are well integrated. each letter should be unique

10. extract that i am not in debt (from every geminde you lived in)

https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/portal/...zuerich_3.html this is for geminde zurich but each geminde has their own link

11. extract from criminal record(this one takes about 3 weeks to arrive so bear that in mind)

https://www.e-service.admin.ch/crex/...rivatauszug_fr

12. proof that i was never supported by social assistance all geminde i lived in. The below is for Zurich, but each geminde has its own.

Stadt Zürich

Sozialdepartement Werdstrasse 75 Verwaltungszentrum Werd 8004 Zürich

13. proof of integration (halbtax, hotel trips in switzerland, pictures of locations i visited). This one was tough. Joining a few local groups is important, but it helps if you travelled around switzerland (could also be work trips) and have pictures/hotel receipts from within switzerland. Easiest is if you are a member of some local clubs.

14. formal letter of application why i want this (this has to come from your and has to be reflective of your application. i was very direct citing the law even, but i am a very formal person. i know people who wrote letters expressing their love of switzerland and how much they enjoy living here.)

Kanton Zurich is notorious for giving them early, others not so much. Nonetheless thanks for the write up.
