Unfortunately, no, I can't find the article that he wrote -- only mentions of it. (I tried to find it when I was leaving the other post). I did a Google search for "doctor nose picking healthy" just to find his name because I couldn't remember it.
But if you Google his name, maybe you'd have more luck and be able to find it.
What gets me is the amount of men, (and I have never seen a woman do it), who I see in my rear view mirror picking their noses and eating it whilst sitting in traffic!!!
I have also noticed this a lot when on trains, I think people think they can't be seen, especially if they turn slightly towards the window....even though most of the time you can still see their reflection.!!!! I did find this though....
So, I assume that most people find eating snot to be disgusting, but what I want to know is (from a Swiss), is this behavior "penalized" or "passively-encouraged"?
Has anyone ever been to a public library or even a restaurant and run their fingers underneath the table - to find dried up boogers? Along with the bubble gum?
I really don't care what people do, I can always look away, but, my son learned this from kids at school and he said that all kids are doing it, so I wonder if this disgusting behavior is accepted here in Switzerland?,
I hope that the school has not adopted the bizarre findings from the Austrian doctor (article above)...
My Swiss mother in law always hands my son a tissue as soon as his finger finds its way up one of his nostrils.
I think all kids stick their fingers in their mouths after a rummage up the nose; I don't think it's confined to the Swiss. i would be more concerned with them teaching their kids not to push and shove or to watch what they're doing with their sodding square rucksacks on a packed tram. If they want to eat snot, that doesn't bother me one bit - unless they offer me a taste...
