Eating snot?

Unfortunately, no, I can't find the article that he wrote -- only mentions of it. (I tried to find it when I was leaving the other post). I did a Google search for "doctor nose picking healthy" just to find his name because I couldn't remember it.

But if you Google his name, maybe you'd have more luck and be able to find it.

What gets me is the amount of men, (and I have never seen a woman do it), who I see in my rear view mirror picking their noses and eating it whilst sitting in traffic!!!

I have also noticed this a lot when on trains, I think people think they can't be seen, especially if they turn slightly towards the window....even though most of the time you can still see their reflection.!!!! I did find this though....

Just use a dam tissue! :S

Your nose acts as a filter and the boogers are not meant for ingestion.

I see men do this, not women! And thank God my daughter (so far) doesn't do eat her snot!

I just saw this pic, and thought it fit perfectly in this thread

Doc.

So, I assume that most people find eating snot to be disgusting, but what I want to know is (from a Swiss), is this behavior "penalized" or "passively-encouraged"?

I pick my nose. Sue me

Has anyone ever been to a public library or even a restaurant and run their fingers underneath the table - to find dried up boogers? Along with the bubble gum?

Yuck.

I pick my nose too, BUT

1. I try to be discrete about it...

2. I would never ever eat the snot...and definitely NOT in public

I guess it s the way for the Swiss to keep everything clean Lol

but i do not do that and will not like my futur kids to do it!

I'd rather people eat it than flick it around or wipe it under the seat/table etc. Not that it's pleasant to watch, but hey. Life goes on.

(Someone mentioned this, or a similar article, earlier.)

Even Wiki has an article on the subject. They have everything.

I really don't care what people do, I can always look away, but, my son learned this from kids at school and he said that all kids are doing it, so I wonder if this disgusting behavior is accepted here in Switzerland?,

I hope that the school has not adopted the bizarre findings from the Austrian doctor (article above)...

Given the health benefits, why would you stop him ? Surely your sensitivities could be controlled in favour of a positive healthy bogey ?

because it's disgusting?

and no, there is no health benefits of eating your own snot, would you drink your own urine if it was good for you?

Not in sweden

My Swiss mother in law always hands my son a tissue as soon as his finger finds its way up one of his nostrils.

I think all kids stick their fingers in their mouths after a rummage up the nose; I don't think it's confined to the Swiss. i would be more concerned with them teaching their kids not to push and shove or to watch what they're doing with their sodding square rucksacks on a packed tram. If they want to eat snot, that doesn't bother me one bit - unless they offer me a taste...

I always ask my grand kid`s if the need a salt and pepper shaker

Ha ha, that's just brought back a memory for me - my grandfather used to say " do you want a spoon for that? "

There are health benefits, the claims and the science are quite sound.

If urine was healthy, of course I would be drinking it. Sure beats some of the Swiss beer.

Just to recap , you would let your own personal disgust get in the way of health benefits to your son ?
