In case you would like to buy and sell internationally, there's no other way than ebay!
Ricardo was good, but is getting very greedy, the charges are too much! Lets help people that give a service for free or a reasonable price.
Dear Scott,
if you are still lucky with Ricardo.ch, perhaps you'd be so kind to share the experience. I don't know neither French nor German, but registered in ricardo & started placing items for bids (thanx to google translate mainly: )))
first 5 or so were free (I didn't choose any options that are under the payment). But now when I am trying to publish, lets say 5th item, they put some minor (30 cents)fee for publishing.
Despite I am still not choosing any payable options.
Could you please, perhaps, clarify: do they have the fixed fee for placing new bids? I really hoped the service could be free: )))
thnx in advance,
N.
Furthermore, most sellers on ebay.ch are actually in Germany and quite a few refuse to ship to Switzerland (but ebay still displays them, so take care to read the small print before bidding). But then I like the way ebay integrates with paypal simplifying the payment process. And for non-typically Swiss stuff, ebay is often the better place to look.
So it's horses for courses really.
For example, here's my charges from recent sales:
Furthermore, is there any differences that I should be aware of from UK Ebay to CH eBay?
Cheers
You could also try the "Möbelbörse" of Interio, which is also a free service: http://www.interio.ch/de/cp.moebelboerse
If you really want one of the two suggested ones, I vouch for Ricardo. Most of my Swiss friends post and buy stuff on/from there.
The fact that tutti.ch is free is because there is no binding contract between buyer and seller. I would certainly use ricardo (it is however not perfect!!!) than ebay (at least for swiss based stuff) as it is pretty much dead in CH.
Unfortunately its not in English?
So true, lets not try to help english speakers, or encourage them to spend money...
Preference that payment either in cash or via bank, cutting out Paypal charge as a buyer or seller.
About 8 or 10 years ago, I was horrified we were buying a full MAC system, pre Imac, with keyboard, mouse, original packing etc & we were meeting the sellers in carpark of Heidiland. OH saying it is OK this is Switzerland.
OH was 100% correct.
We had a beautiful glass table with a small mark on one edge, we could not sell for even 1chf, because of the pecularity of size would not fit into a regular car. It did not fit our lifestyle anymore. Odd thing we eventually were able through word of mouth, able to find a neighbour to take it for nothing, but has given us 100s of grateful hospitality.
There is the odd thing we buy with ebay UK, depending on value, whether delivery to Switzerland, Germay drop box or UK home. But so far not bothered to sell from Swizerland on ebay.
You are right, but you know sometimes, you just get fed up with it, especially on the internet, its so easy to have an English option...Oh I forgot the swiss do not like easy..
