Hello everyone,
I am an Elementary Education teacher and I'd like to get my diploma recognized in Switzerland. I've been applying to some kindergarten jobs, and all of them required me to have it recognized before offering me a job.
I've been looking into the EDK page and tried to apply for it, but it requires an address in Switzerland, which of course I have not. Has anyone gone through the same before?
Any tips and advice on the process are very welcome.
Thanks in advance
At the very bottom of the general fact sheet on their website is an e-mail address. I would try that. Have you tried just putting in your foreign address? On the fact sheet it does not say, that you have to be a resident. Since it is quite expensive to start the process, have you made sure, that you meet all the requirements? Especially language.
In canton Berne and Solothurn a teacher can be hired without EDK approval, you will just get paid less until you get it. Because teachers are in short supply, you may have a chance if you speak German. Teacher jobs tend to be posted from about March onwards for the new school year. But there are openings for temporary positions.
