EU Citizen - Moving canton while unemployed - B Permit issue?

Hi there,

I've got a B Permit/EU Citizen and I'm unemployed at the moment (without chômage). When I move from Canton Vaud to Fribourg, can I keep my B Permit? Or does the new commune in Fribourg could decline my registration/and not issuing a new B Permit since I'm not able to provide a employment contract?

What's your experience?

As an EU national you have the right to free movement within CH. But you must comply with local regulations. I would check with the commune in FR where you will reside.

I was just hoping to get some insight beforehand, from someone who was in the past in a similar position.

Well that wouldn’t be me. I’m Swiss now but was non-EU before that. 10 years to get my C permit, as that was the rule at the time.

But I am an avid follower of EF and like to help where I can.
