They will ask you multiple choice questions. From the booklet I received in Stadt Luzern, it had 100 questions, memorized all. In the interview I was given 12 questions, and the guy said I had to make sure I answer 9 or I think 10 questions correctly. I got 12/12, was super easy!!
I had my intreview today. It was quite easy, they explained me the whole process, ask me three questions (work, free time, and why I want to be Swiss), gave a short test (16 multiple answers and 4 open questions) needed to get 12 correct.
So far this is my timeline:
May 2025: Sent the documents
May 2025: Paid the bill
Oct 2025: receive a letter from the Gemeindeamt (Kanton Zurich), basically I form with general questions about me, my work, education, etc. Sent it back right away.
Dec 2025: Invitation for an interview in Zurich Stadthaus
Feb 2026: Short test and interview
I hope that helps!
Thanks @agi1987. It does help. What is your German level if I may ask? I have an interview in March I am not 100% confident about my German language. It seems like we both have same timelines (except for the interview).
And at the end of the interview did they say anything whether they were satisfied with the performance or is is something they’ll decide later?
My level is B1 on a good day. The speaking is fine but have problem understanding.
I was also worry about that, but I think it well, honestly he did most of the talking.
Just spoke to answer the three questions, the test was super easy and he checked in front of me.
I did not get a feedback, he told me they do no do that. Zurich Stadt only provides like a reccomendation and the test results to the Bund. At the end of the day, the decision is on the Bund.
