I can sympathize with you OP- we've been through the whole process- but we now have two lovely boys (3.5 and 1.5 yrs old).
As a previous Poster, NickAtBasel said, the Frauenspital in Basel has a very good reputation/success rate; and we also have another, rather wonderful (and slightly eccentric) expert in Dr Jean-Claude Spira, who I can recommend wholeheartedly.
As you have to pay for IVF/ICSI yourselves, you are not restricted to your own Kanton I'm guessing. Worth investigating these 2 options too.
At least it seems like you understand where some of the conception issues lie- this does help as it helps you balance hope and expectation. It seems that you already know that it is possible to become pregnant too, so see all of these indicators as positives. The more we knew about our own problems, and the more we understood about the processes involved, the easier it was to live with.
In the end, it is a financial strain and it can be difficult to control the emotions, but stick with it!

I was gonna send you a PM but thought I might as well make it public so it might help others reg IVF in Bregenz. We did 2 IVFs at 'IVF Zentren Prof. Zech'. This is my experience and mine only. It'd be interesting to know whether other women had similar experiences.
In brief: the doctors were lovely and helpful on our first appointment but we never saw them again after that. We were poorly informed reg following treatment and the clinic made mistakes. When I called a doctor one evening on an emergency number (since I noticed 2 contradicting infos reg dosage) he was very unpleasant to say the least. I wasn't told that the progesterone shots were extremely painful if not heated to body temperature and had to walk with crutches for a week. We also had a doctor (before egg transfer) who did not speak a word of English even though we had requested it. And we were charged around 500 CHF for the 10 mns chat.
I wouldn't recommend that clinic- it looks state of the art and ultra modern but my experience was v negative there.

I'm really sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience in Bregenz. We went to Dr Zech after five failed IVF attempts at a private clinic in Zürich. We found them to be very professional and attentive. The hormones are rather awful, lots of shots every day for a few months. Dr Zech warned us that I could become overstimulated because I have too many eggs, and I did end up in hospital for a few days.
That said, we got pregnant on the first attempt with just one egg. We now have a lovely, cheeky baby, and I have to say she is worth every moment of heartache and pain that we experienced over the past few years. Two friends also got pregnant on the first attempt there, one with twins. The rules in Switzerland are rather strict, and our Swiss doctor was not particularly truthful about some things or flexible regarding the transfer dates. He was adamant that we didn't go to Austria, he would have rather sent us to a Spanish doctor as a last resort.
I hope that all of families on this thread find a way to overcome their fertility problems, and will soon be complaining about the price of nappies and sleepless nights instead!
