I have a FIDE validation test B1 level for conversation and writing coming up next week. Wanted to know if anyone has given a validation test recently.
It would be of great help to get some pointers.

Ah, you're going the "dossier de validation" route? I've spoken with colleagues in the past who went that way, but I don't think it's much different from normal exam. At the interview you still have to have a chat and write some form of a letter. It seems like it's the "end" part of the normal FIDE exam tasks. Basically they don't bother you with testing for A1/A2
Thank you for the update, yes it is the dossier FIDE validation test. Quite a few of my friends here have given the FIDE B1 but no one has given the validation test so I was trying to get some information on the 'chat' and the written part of the test as there is no sample test provided for it on their website. Whilst I am preparing in terms of all probabilities of questions that could be asked but I thought if anyone has given this test then it could be of help to understand the general subjects that are covered during the test.
I have not done the FIDE Test but if it is speaking practise you need, I would recommend booking a speaking session on iTALKI. I booked sessions for 10-15 CHF per hour and could practise my German ahead of the test. Definitely worth checking out
