it's one of the most spectacular countries to explore by car, dozens of epic alpine passes (especially in the central / eastern part of CH).
sure, you can wear tennis shoes on the ice (or take the train with other people you don't know), but why?
living/visiting Switzerland without a (fast) car is like going to the ice skating rink without skates.
That is definitely not true.
I love my car. But, I cannot ski on my car, I cannot enjoy MTB singletrails on my car, I cannot climb above 3000m on my car, I cannot dive in cristaline waters inside my car, I cannot get drunk while driving, I cannot go off the beaten path on my car.....it's almost like my car is trapped to the road network for passenger vehicles. A golden cage, but anyway a cage.
