my boys are 17 and 13 looking for football clubs in Basel. The youngest really may be better in local swiss speaking to learn more but the older one would love young mans english speaking team. we have lived here a month now and they need to be getting out on their own with people their own age! please inbox me if anyone knows more.....

Do any of you sporty EF members play for an 11-a-side football team in the Basel area, more favourably within the areas near to Liestal, Pratteln, Muttenz or Reinach?

I played quite a lot up to the age of 25, to the unparalleled standards of the English Sunday League, but more recently, it's been nothing more than the odd cameo appearance whilst on my travels!

I'd just like to join a friendly, sociable weekend team who like to go for a drink or two afterwards....

Anybody joined the Basel football club recently? how do i join?

There are many posts asking how to join a team (or have a friendly unorganised game) but there doesn't seem to be a single reply along the lines of:

"this is my team, we play here, at this time, come join us"....

I can't believe its so hard to get into a Basel football team for ex pats.

Is there someone out there who can prove me wrong?

Hey folks.

Some of us had a weekly Thursday evening footy game going last year in Schutzenmattrasse Park. There are some nice pitches there and you can just turn up and find a spot to play.

We organised this through the forum and we plan to start it again in about 2 weeks as the weather should be decent enough. I will post up an event on the forum this weekend so if you are interested, please sign up.

I know of about 5 people interested so if we can get a few more we should have a good weekly game going.

Hi everyone... just moved to Basel myself and would love to either get involved in a weekly game or something a bit more serious (some league play potentially). I'm 28 and have played most of my life so would love to get back into it.

Long time since this thread has seen any activity.
