For Sale section?

Follow that just shows this: “Trust Level member”
for me - no numbers

You are a Member (Trust Level 2).

A Regular is Trust Level 3.

I clicked on your avatar then clicked on the Person Icon where Member is written.
This takes you to a pop up stating that Member is trust level 2.

Some people have this information hidden.

Thanks! Now I’m curious what I need to do to go up in level :stuck_out_tongue: It’s almost like galaxus badges…

Ok, but let’s be a little bit blunt and honest here. That doesn’t work in its current form.

So we have an enabled For Sale Section. Until yesterday, it has never had an item for sale and most of us didn’t know it existed. Now it has one item for sale. And only 30 people are enabled to sell something. Most people here aren’t even aware they had a trust level, let alone what it is, let alone how they can level up.

I think the obvious solution is to allow Level 2 trusted members to sell items. If it creates problems - which I cannot foresee - it would be easy enough to change back. But as it stands, there may as well be no for sale section at all.

To be frank, I think even at level 2, it’s going to be difficult to sell here, given the visibility of this forum and its subsections. But I think we could at least find out.

Come on, most people don’t come here to the forum for the ‘for sale’ – facebook, tutti and what not provide much better service than this Forum. People come here for the penchant for heckling

it is not currently allowed to post adverts on here

I suppose this is a fancy way to say: no commercial offers, only individual

 I guess the admin have researched the topic well to come up with such fancy phrasing

You clearly don’t remember when Julie + Nelly the elephant tried to resell a car bought from Nill, after a further 18 months & 30,000km & he was asking almost 3 times the price he paid.

I think it was the funniest thread I ever saw on the internet, sadly EF deleted old sales threads.

I mainly lurk, have nothing to sell and am happy to read others sparring. Feel like I missed out on the sales section of the old English Forum now!

I would challenge that - I have never sold on facebook (nor do I intend to based on what I see people say online). Ricardo/tutti/anibis cost a fortune and are such a massive waste of time.

I still have 8x wheels/tires for a merc that people buy on ricardo, and then either don’t show up, or ask silly questions… I’ve now pulled the advert, and will probably just bring them to the dump and throw them away…

WhatsApp groups is the best way to sell things in your area. I sold or gave away hundreds of things in WhatsApp.

I’m thankful to English forum that I sold a few things there before I even had a smartphone, but the times have changed. Having access to thousands of potential buyers in my town or in my region via sales chats in WhatsApp there is not much sense for me to post somewhere else.

ROFL that’s a good one, yet, not unheard of!

Perhap not only a “for sale” section, but perhaps a “looking to buy” sub-section.
I’m in the market for a RAIDed NAS for instance.
