It's true. The French love their cars but not in the same was as the Germans, or the English, for example. A car is a mode of transport to get them from A to B and they really don't care if it's got a few knocks and scraps - it will still get them from A to B.
Most of the bumps are just careless (forceful) parking anyway.
It's full of cheap tourists from France, who are always angry and pissed off that their dream holidays turns out to be a sh1t crowded place full of id1ots.
So I'd not take a summer time holiday in cote d'azur as a reference...
Yes also some suburbians and id1ots are scratching cars when they are jealous, as said before. Nothing linked to driving.
Additionally, every years, poorly integrated migrants from older generations are burning thousands of cars for new year. It's also something specific to France...
But to generalize that all french drivers are bad, that's silly.
But stick to your trauma and simplification of the world, it will makes you happy.
Or maybe it's "speaking french" that turn people into bad drivers?
