Can anyone share their experiences in finding a job after graduating from a Swiss university (as a non-EU citizen)?
I just have two companies interested in me. I passed most of the interviews and before the final interview/offer they both are looking into the labor law and checking the possibilities to hire a non-EU graduate from Swiss University. Both companies are huge ones, but still they mention that it may be difficult to obtain a permit. I do not really agree with them, as graduates from Swiss universities have simplified process. I even sent them info about the simplified process in the labor law (Art 21, 3 AIG).
Any advice or can anyone share their experience in transitioning from graduate to full-time employee?

That sounds good, especially giving them the law. After all, many people, including HR departments, do not understand the process. Just nod and say that you've heard that this is a special rule, and can be a little extra work, so you looked it up, and here's a helpful checklist.
Depending upon the employer, it might help if you write down the exact steps, including such info as the actual name of the application, the link to the form they would need to use, and the address of the authority to which the application needs to be submitted. Include a full set of the documents you know the authorities will need, listed and numbered.
So one of the employers said they checked with the labor office of Zurich. The labor office said that they would have to prove if they made a posting of the job ad, and if Swiss or EU citizens applied to it as well. I was assuming this process is waived for non-EU graduates of Swiss Universities? Any ideas? Thank you all
Hey, in my case the employer had to apply for the work permit, but not justify that they looked for someone with Swiss/EU nationality. This is waived if you have a Swiss degree. Maybe they did not explained the situation correctly to the job market authorities? The application process took like 3 months for me, but the permit was granted at the end. What degree did you get in Switzerland? Maybe this is only to Master or Doctorate degrees? I guess the company would need to show how important this job is for the Swiss economy...
