I picked up my first car in CH today, 10 mins later I managed to get a parking fine, I'm hoping this is a record.
It was this company https://www.funkwache.ch/ and 80 bucks, does anyone have any experience of a private company doing this? I'd rather they reported me to the police and pay more to the stadt than line their pockets unless there's a reason other than financial not to.
For bonus points I parked directly opposite an besucher spot and didn't notice.
Thanks, I did that search and read a few but I saw lots on trying to get out of it or 'is this legal' but didn't find anything on getting them to send it to the police except for one case where it was offered with an implicit 'pay up or we tell the cops'
I think the concepts of demanding a payment and flagging you to the police are different things. You report someone to police if you want them to be punished (by paying a fine to the government), in this case the issuer claims that you owe them money so they want to be compensated.
If you don't pay, they will either:
- ask the police to fine you (but they don't earn anything from it, so I don't think so)
- let it go
- proceed with further legal action because according to them you owe them money (regardless of the reason you owe it for)
