General Hairdresser / Barber thread, Zurich region

There is a great guy at Claus & Clara in Binningen High Street. My first question was do you speak English and although he has lived here most of his life his English is great. I believe he is called Stefan but in any event he is the only guy in the Salon. Its right next to Mighros on the Number 2 tram route.

I have been to see him a couple of times and was really pleases - I even trusted him with a colour!!!!

Happy haircut.

You forgot to take that picture of how you wanted it, didn't you?

Yeep. I gave pretty clear instructions though - a little bit of shaping and a bit off the back. At least I won't have to get it cut until September now.

I go to and have been for a while now after a long search for a good Hairdresser, Coiffeur Zabeni in Wadenswil. Its right by the bahnhof.

He speaks perfect English and is very very good with a pair of scissors.

You have to make an appointment but its worth it and cheaper than you would pay in Zurich.

He must be good, he cuts the hair for many famous people in Switzerland as you can see by the Webpage.

I second the question...?

Been there, done that. Quite happy.

What a nice feeling to make myself understand and speak bollocks in English.

SWMBO is booked in next week.

I paid way too much for my hair here... I know prices in the uk have gone up for colour, cut, or pro styling etc ... but the price I paid took the cookie!!....

Therefore Im just going to get it done at home from now on.... it saves all the hassle.

My mate's English speaking salon is having it's official opening on Saturday 9th June 2007.

The website is www.thelondoner.ch

There's a great little hairdresser in Zurich at Bleicherweg 10, 2 minutes walk from Paradeplatz. It's a really friendly place staffed by nice young ladies who are so entirely down to earth its hard to believe you're still in Zurich.

Ask for Rosa, who speaks English very well and furthermore really enjoys getting the chance to speak English with customers. I normally pay around 53.- which isnt the cheapest, but certainly isnt the most expensive.

The best thing about the place is that you can just wonder in off the street and either get an appointment there and then, or typically later that day. I don't think I've ever gone in there and not had my hair cut the same day.

Call Rosa on 044 202 81 17.

I just moved to Basel from Atlanta Georgia 4 months ago and have been a hairstylist for 20 yrs. I also owned my own business for 7 of those years. I moved here and married my Swiss partner of 7 years. I am an excellent stylist and sure you would be pleased. I would love to cut your hair. My email is [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) If interested please reply. Barry Cook

Thanks barry. My Hair was cut so short last time that it may take me a month or so before it needs cutting but I will be sure to e-mail you then.

Just let me know when you are ready for a great cut. And put the word out. Thanks Barry

I can highly recommend Barry. I want for a cut over a week ago now and I'm very happy with the result. I recommend him to all, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Does anybody know of a good English speaking hairdresser who is good at cutting really curly hair? I've been going to the same lady since I was 12, but unfortunately don't have the money to fly her over

Everytime I get a haircut by someone who is not her, it's usually cut so poorly I have to get it re-cut. My hair is the longest it's been in about 5 years and I would like to keep it that way.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SWMBO's hair is thick and curly - she liked Alex at "The Londoner" in Kloten (above)... and he's a Brit.

I'd recommend him as well (see above)

Thanks. I should have mentioned though that I'm in Zurich. The Londoner looks great but considering I have a hard enough time getting it together enough to get my haircut in Zurich, I 100% doubt I'll make it all the way over towards Basel.

As my old Dad used to say, "the main difference between a good haircut and a bad one is about 2 weeks"

Alternatively buy some cutters and do it yourself, that's what I do.

Nick.

Spoken like a true man. I'd like to see how well he would fair with almost waist length really curly hair. Cause it ain't two weeks of growth we're dealing with.

Kloten is by the airport and the Londoner is across from the station...

S7, 25 mins from ZH Hauptbahnhof, and wrong direction for Basel

Okay, sorry. The directions on the website give them from Basel/Luzern. Made me a bit confused.
