My husband went to Zumstein in Bern. Got 4 passport pictures for 29 francs. Zumstein can make passport pictures to measure, like Stuber used to. The pictures were ready in about 20 minutes.
Funny... from what I've seen the UK now want a digital photo uploaded with your application, smart phone fine as long as it's not a selfie.
Did my renewal application a couple of weeks ago. Out of over 40 photos taken on my Nikon, the website only accepted 5 as being good enough to be submitted. I could blame it on my OH taking the photos but that simply wasn't the case. I decided to play with their system, and the photo I finally used was rejected twice then accepted on the 3rd attempt. Go figure! Reason given for all the failures was that it couldn't distinguish me from the plain pale background required. I'm dark blonde and can only wonder how someone with white hair would fare.
There was something on the news the other day, that it disproportionally rejects black women’s pictures over any other!

It rejected all 15 photos I took without make-up. Had to do a full face of slap before it began to accept them.
