Fondue at Baracca Zermatt was a great experience.I was there winter of 2011. A very warm and cozy, traditional atmosphere with a great fire in the center of the place. There was a variety of fondues, some even with truffles and champagne. The staff were very friendly as warm. Overall I highly recommend it. Even though you're outside of the airport, you feel like your on the top of the mountain somewhere.
Welcome to the forum. Took 4 years but better late than never for the maiden post!
Any suggestion of current and/or new places?
Thanks!
Le Dezaley in Zurich is a classic. http://le-dezaley.ch/
For lots of choice (over 15 fondue flavors) my favorite is Chasalp http://www.chaesalp.ch/ which is in the woods above Zurich and has a rabbit pen which you can see from inside the restaurant.
Buy a fondue set. Invite friends. Best fondue dinner ever!
The Adlisberg Restaurant is a good place for fondue:

It's too hot to even think about fondue this week.
I lived 3 years in ZRH - my best fondue was for sure at "CHEZ CRETTOL". Absolutelly fantastic food, and the local is very nice as well. It's in Kusnacht, 10 minute drivign distance from Zurich. Only in winter time (it's closed during summer).

One interesting place to go is Waldschenke Altberg (in Dänikon, Zürich) - you have to hike there, so the fondue is especially rewarding at the end! Here's the website for more info: http://www.waldschenke-altberg.ch
