They think 2 Dutch passengers brought it on board, possibly contracted on a bird watching trip at a landfill site - but it’s unconfirmed.
If ever one of them is looking for grounds for divorce, this would be the gold standard ![]()
I think they are both dead……
They both died. The wife managed to pass the virus to the flight attendant on the flight Johannesburg - Amsterdam, which she wasn’t allowed to take due to her health condition. She had to leave the plane and was taken to the hospital, where she died the next day.
The flight attendant is in the quarantine in Amsterdam with mild symptoms.
Oops
US now says it will take the US citizens off the ship, but not the rest of the citizens. Kinda reminds me of Trump sending a medical ship to Greenland on humanitarian reasons … LOL
Not strange. UK is also arranging to take its citizens off the ship. I expect other countries who have nationals on it are doing the same.
Surely they could take the five Canadians with them. Or have they forgotten 9-11?
The six Russian crew will be in limbo for some time.
I remember there was a time when the US would have taken ALL, dealt with them the best way possible and then returned them to respective countries or consulates in the US.
A time when the US flag was a inspiration, hope with real cojones behind it …
I guess MAGA has it’s ways …
Why does US have to take all? Netherlands evacuated 3 passengers that had symptoms. The rest are healthy and going towards Tenerife. It is agreed with Spain that they will stay in isolation on Tenerife until their country organises safe return for them.
Just hope he did not eat lunch in the Zurich Migros City Restaurant! ![]()
US does not have to. But historically, US would. Additionally, it’s much easier to deal with the group issue in one place than risk ‘escape’. Related costs would be managed by the govts, in the background. US would walk away with the image and maintain the ‘partnership’ and the spirit with the other countries.
This cartoon reminds of what life today has evolved to, these days:
CNN says this virus case has increased over the years.
Hospitals have been seen getting ready for the new virus

Journalists and editors tripped over their feet to publish that Hantavirus is not contagious from human to human in spite of well-documented 2018 evidence of that happening in Argentina with high probability of being the same or a very similar virus variety.
Then, headlines like this. Next people ponders about why media has very low credibility:
Of course, this virus is not as contagious as others (shorter time window when the sick person is contagious, apparently longer exposure is needed, etc), so no big worries. But, the “no big worries” has to be supported by truth, not wishful thinking.
The pitfalls of the 24-hour rolling news outlets. Where someone’s just gotta say something…
That pdf pretty much describes how I have read it in multiple news sources.
I wonder where other people are getting their news?
Sorry folks but Twitter and Tik Tok don’t really count.
