I have to say that that was my reaction too - they have these little 'Eltern Hefts' which we have to write all communication between us in and every entry has to be signed by both parties so there is no doubt that the message has been read. A very useful ready made evidence trail should we need it in the future.
I think I would copy his note, and write a response on the same paper, address it to him but send it to the director to inform his own staff (you might want to send him a copy, and maybe to the school nurse and your pediatric doc). I would in fact thank him for being a great asset to your kiddo's education and integration in this country, ask him if he needs any help with this so it is a successful process, and most of all, thank him kindly for his report on how the incident went, and, ask him, next time your daughter has an injury that is bleeding a lot (describe the wound, etc.), you want to be informed asap. See where that goes. I doubt it will do anything, since even local parents were not successful. A situation like this does not surprise me at all. But maybe if you word things a little bit differently, the old school ways might bend a little bit in your favor.
An injury that requires a Dr or Hospital visit and treatment is not a minor injury.
Yup. I'm a teacher, most of my teaching colleagues are Swiss, and I can confirm that this teacher is, indeed, an arse.
Unfortunately, some teachers misunderstand the loco in in loco parentis...

We had a similar reply, ie discussing the incident by really making a point saying "it's not our fault, it's your 6yr old fault", as if a little child was capable being solely responsible for herself. It's nonsense. Plus, everybody slips on wet surface.
this is so tough! we've had a black eye, a bite with individual teeth marks and a hole in the head on 3 separate occasions. all these incidents were so bad that the kinderkrippe phoned me and asked me to pick him up and take him to the dr - the school never contacted us in any way, although i went and asked for more feedback - but was totally ignored.
i don't need a blow by blow every day report, but when there is blood involved due to violence i would appreciate some sort of notification. i only received reaction when i contacted the teacher to explain that he is too scared to go to school - all these injuries were inflicted by the same kid.

One of the downsides of the Swiss system, i.e. having the same teacher for more than a year - teachers have a big impact on young children as the latter are still in their formative years. So if you're not moving to another village in order to change schools, you are right in that it might be better to let sleeping dogs lie for your daughter's sake.
