I am William. Come across the English Forum via Google when I am searching for some information. Please allow me to introduce myself.

I am married with no children. I have been working in Switzerland for many years. Still can't speak Deutsch - my excuse is I am working in IT and everybody at work accommodates my Deutsch inability . In truth, it is my laziness in play.

We live in lovely (boring) Solothurn. I am starting to plan for retirement in this lovely country.

Happy to know everyone better on this forum.

Since you’re beginning to plan for retirement, does that mean it’s within two or three years, or a longer time?

Either way, you can get plenty of ideas of things to do when you retire (or even before) from the Social Events section of the forum.

With everything on track, I hope to enter retirement mode in 2 years. One of the first things is to decide which village/Kanton to live in, initial thinking is Zurich and nearby villages. I will seek the wisdom of the good people on EF.
