Help climbers? Drone stuck on a Swiss waterfall near Zug

There for you.

I don’t think rescuing lost drones is very high on their list of priorities. In fact I doubt they’d bother to do it at all unless there was a person attached to it.

Well he could buy another drone and use it to rescue his stranded one.

Life has become so complicated, sigh.

How are tourists supposed to find these websites? Of every canton? Holiday will be over after trying to.

" “I want to be able to go behind a tree in peace and unobserved,” explained government councillor Andreas Hostettler – whereupon the members of the cantonal council burst into laughter." So did I.
Is going behind a tree still legal then?

As to drones: It is definitely a cool invention. As usually it’s the amount that causes the problem.
I get personally annoyed if they fly them over my house and garden (and everyone elses of course) as it is obvious that they are intrding people’s privacy. Wonder if thieves now use them to plan their burglaries?

Drones have their usage. But every tourist and YouTuber having a drone is mighty annoying. My dog is terrified of the noise.

A lot of people fly them with no consideration - which is why the hate for them.

All the world needs right now is more influencers… :grinning:

(I agree it’s annoying, though I definitely watched videos from places I don’t think I’ll visit myself) Flying drones over Switzerland (of all places) is completely overdone by now. Go to places few people visit, then you can really justify this annoyance. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well, as the Romans already knew well, Ignorantia juris non excusat  and I personally love when tourists get fined – the more fines, the lower the taxes for residents  (unless, of course, the local government decides to invest the money -like the 63.5 Million francs fines to drivers in Zurich’s Langstrasse- in ludicrous initiatives…like providing free suncream in the Badis…)

I see drone users as the cassette-players and boombox-owners (at least in my country) on the 70’s and 80’s. You couldn’t go picnicking anywhere without having the rattle of the last hits going full blast.

And the discussion in this thread reminds me so much of the (rough) brawls between the various ‘pater familias’ for the right to a peaceful weekend…and/or for 'freedom".
I am growing old, and I agree I rather trek, climb or ski without intromission, noise, and the risk of the drone falling on (or around) me… which seems more commonly occurring than what is presented… WATCH: Multiple drones crash, fall on crowd during downtown Orlando holiday drone show

Horses do not see what’s above them (unless they lift their heads of course). I remember riding out once and there was a hot-air balloon suddenly very low above us. I remember “praying” my horse won’t notice. As it was totally quiet, the horse didn’t.
It was rather the noise than “seeing” it that spooked that horse in Zermatt. Costly flight for the drone owner!

Just curious but what does this have to do with either drones or Swiss waterfalls?
