His line of argument means that your wife could never go ahead unless the other lane is completely empty. Obviously, the give-way can only apply after the other’s barrier has been raised AND the car has started to move. After that she might have to wait, that would make sense.
But that still doesn’t allow him to force his right of way, everbody must avoid a collision when possible. At those speeds that was definitely doable.
In your experience how long does it take for insurance companies to investigate such a small accident? We’ve got a person assigned to the case, followed up a few times but still no result =/
Just to add here, the insurance company should be able to tell what happened by who is dented where and how big the dents etc are. They can work out who was going in what direction etc. So I think you can leave them to sort it out. I had similar with a dispute and once the insursnces got together they worked out it wasnt my fault.
I visited the third party insurance assessor in ZH a week after the accident, he asked if I wanted to do the repair or take cash less VAT. I took cash & was paid out within 10 days
I called the police, this delayed settlement until 2 court cases had been settled some 3 months late I got paid out about twice as much as the car was worth, I bought back the salvage for CHF 500 & repaired the car for a further CHF 500, ended up CHF 3000 in pocket
Not always. I had a car who was on the inside lane of a roundabout, when I was in the out side lane, undertake me and cut in front of me to exit the roundabout. I couldn’t stop in time and my front wing hit around the area of his rear wheel (side of his car).
