Help .. what to wear to the opera (Zurich)?

Thats great to hear. Have a fantastic time at the opera!

Diamond earrings, rouge noir nail varnish and nice panties. Have fun

Thanks! Was actually thinking about the nail polish today And my husband will love the rest

Actually, the rule is assemble then remove one item for a great look. You choose...

Oh, I willl......

Fantastic - that is wonderful news! Have a great time!

Uncle Max has already given you important instructions on the rest of your outfit.

If you can, try and find/borrow a sexy evening clutch to go with it... just big enough for your lipstick and a hanky.

Yeah, leave enough room for your lippy, the earings and ...a hanky?

Hi Nanners,

what about Peek & Cloppenburg at Sihl City, they sell all kind of dresses, for good prices I've succeeded there many times. Wish you a great time at the Opera. Me and my husband are looking forward to go to the Opera one time as well.

Thanks -- I did find something in the meantime. However, I did look there as well and they had a rather good selection for a very good price!

Nanners great news. There is nothing better than feeling good about yourself to enjoy a great experience.

GO GIRL.

What, you think it's more elegant to snuffle all the way through Ideomeno??

It makes no difference except that I am jealous - I would've loved to go to the premiere . Great news about your bargain, Nanners. Hope you have a memorable evening!

From performers point of view ( literally) ....you dont want anything too glitzy looking up at you nor do you want lots of leg or underwear showing , so although LBD is favourable any dark colour is ok , as is any kind of suit, or jacket /trouser combination.

be casually smart , be comfortable (most important ) and enjoy the performance. your reaction at the end will carry more importance to the cast than whether you were kitted out at matalan or knightsbridge.

have good time .

I would take with me a good understanding of the libretto so that my Opera is more enjoyable.

If you gonna see Tristan and Isolde ,by Wagner ,go Funeral .Magic Flute by Mozart it`s rather a happy occasion .Point is you dress different for different operas or composers.I am sure there is a dress code recommendations some where

Here is some thing

BTW: I am jealous Just kidding ,have great time

er, you know it's just acting, as in people pretending to be Tristan and Isolde, and they don't really die in the end, right??

Hahahaha your right I just wanted to make a point about dress codes

I have been to the Opera here twice and I did find it a little chilly. You may want to consider a shawl or something you can use while sitting if you dress is not very warm.

Enjoy !

I'm reminded of the time when I was in the good seats at the Sydney Opera House. An elderly couple sat in front of me, the lady dressed quite well, hair done, etc. The husband was obviously registering his displeasure at being there rather than having a few pints with his mates. He was attired in a bright orange velour track suit. Yes, the missus wasn't pleased.
