Housing in Switzerland

A renter has no rights when it comes to challenging the neighbor’s building plans, what a nonsensical take. What happens in the UK is entirely moot and irrelevant.

You may feel insulted by my post. Yet this very fact demonstrates that you take pride in your honesty and openness, which wouldn’t be a thing if it didn’t stand out, if it weren’t special.

With which, ironically, you confirm my take.

I agree completely. However having observed estate agents here for almost 40 years my opinion is that their work ethic is so un-Swiss. I would even venture that some will go out of their way to interfere with the process.

I don’t know why that is, but it is.

Avoid agents if you can. Never sign an exclusive contract, And watch them like a hawk.

There are plenty of trustworthy salespeople, be that in Switzerland or anywhere else.
It’s ridiculous to tar a whole profession with the same brush just because there are some dodgy ones around.

And as you are so quick to point out to other people, you have no idea about what he wanted to believe. You’re just making assumptions in order to support your argument.

The law that regulates transactions is literally “caveat emptor”.

An uninformed statement.

Renters can of course object to neighbours’ building plans if they can show they are affected. It is not your ownership status that is relevant to the objection - it is whether the planned construction is in line with building regulation.

That’s of course true. But until the contrary has been proven you should assume the worse side, as demonstrated in post #12.

What a nonsensical reply! Perhaps you should re-read my response with a slightly different grammatical inflection in mind. And seriously, why would I be ‘insulted’ by your post? It’s not that enlightening or particularly interesting, maybe you should offer up useful replies rather than veiled digs at posters or posts that you clearly haven’t read properly!

did you buy it?

I didn’t buy it. This was back in 2009. I’m sure it is probably worth double by now.

Probably. The land alone.
