How do you get over the fear of driving here?

Get a Swiss car for starters your sitting on the wrong side so it males it harder so get a car for driving on the right and then practice. I only ever riddin motorcycles here but I tell u it them

Mountain roads that get you the worst. Doesn't help that the Swiss in my opinion aren't the best drivers

Driving a Swiss car I find myself reaching out to the left and trying to open the driver's door when I go to change gear. I also have a priority to busy road when I leave my street that people are hesitant at giving priority too. I drive out in front of cars and have to sound the horn and point at the lines on the ground just to leave the street some days when it is busy. Sitting in that drivers seat would be a death wish

As I am from South Africa and had a South African license when I came here I had no choice but to take lessons and do a practical test to convert to a Swiss license (which cost me more than doing the learners and practical test in SA). It sometimes makes me really sour when I see how badly some people around here!

In some ways it was a very good thing though - I got used to driving on the wrong side of the road together with an experienced teacher, was introduced to the right of way rule (I still struggle with this one though), and picked up many handy tips for watching other drivers and things in general. I was pretty lucky as I just randomly found my teacher online but he was an excellent teacher and improved my driving style so the money was not all wasted.
