How early can I deregister before leaving Swiss?

Hi,

Struggling to find any information on the above.

Does anyone know how early you can deregister?

Is there any flexibiltiy around the day to actually leave or do they need proof of flights?

Finally, can you keep your swiss bank account for pension payouts and then cancel after receving the payment?

All help appreciated.

Since you’re an EU national you can deregister and then still be here for up to 90 days after as a tourist.

Ask your bank if you can keep the account open or not.

There were a couple of threads on this. Normally it's about 2-3 weeks.

I've just done it 6 weeks in advance, but they told me in my Gemeinde that in other places it's only allowed 1 month before.

I doubt that an EU national would need to prove their departure as some will simply drive or take a train. You leaving your accommodation likely is sufficient.

Maybe not, but might help with things like final tax bills, closing bank accounts, etc.

I cannot for the life of me understand why English-speakers use “SWISS”, especially those not in the French-speaking part, when referring to Switzerland. It’s like some kind of illness on EF...

I just skim over it and ignore it, it’s pretty obvious what people mean and most if them are not native English speakers.

To answer the OP’s question it probably varies depending on the canton.

Here it is not more than 30 days before departure.
