How many times can you take the Kurz Gymnasium entrance exam in Zurich?

In principle yes, but then the kid needs to get university access through a Berufsmatura or similar.

They could, it would take longer but it is possible.

You mean Medical Doctor? A Physician? While a doctorate is not needed to become what is commonly known as "Doctor", one however should have Matura to join med school.

Also accepted are: Swiss or Vocational Matura + Pasarelle. Bachelor from a Swiss Fachhochschule oder Pädagogischen Hochschule Bachelor, Master, Lizenziat, Diplom, PhD from a Swiss University

The entrance criteria for the other disciplines are lower and the schools offer entrance examinations. However if they are easier than the Swiss Matura exam is open for discussion.

Studying medicine still means you need to pass an entry test in the German speaking areas and Ticino.

Only Geneva, Lausanne, and Neuchatel have no such test.

I appreciate all the responses for my question.

Doctor I meant to say , a physician, GP, Heart Surgeon .

Was going to say this. If you're not able to maintain grades high enough for entrance into Gymi, I doubt you'll have much success with the numerus clausus.

The numerus clausus exam test different things than your matura grades.

agreed, at least from what I heard from friends, classmates who did it, it's significantly more difficult. I highly doubt I would have been able to pass it back when I was that age.
