Just from the child care costs perspective, is France "more friendly" for two parents working full time?
Leaving aside permit questions, school/kindergarten quality, tax differences, daily commute across the border etc...
It got me thinking, if someone is living in a border region, could they consider moving to a neighbouring country because of child care, for example to France?
yes, i looked. it's about 1/3 to 1/2 the price. i didn't move the kids in the end because i didn't want the disruption and also they can learn swiss german at the swiss daycare.
Yeah but you need to factor a lot of things in. I have not looked at it for a while but things like medical insurance, unemployment protection etc all need to be carefully assessed as it's the whole package.
Yes, this is very true. That's why in my question I wanted to exclude other things from equation because they are very different for each person and situation.
