How to remove car number plates?

Thank you for your concern

It was touch and go

Which reminds me of the proverb:

What is the difference between lending out your girlfriend or your car?

Nothing, they both come back f....d

Aside from looking rather lovely, it does look a little tight in there, surely Mrs D's Coupe should be banished to the corner?

It took me a while to figure out how to remove my plates- it seems that there are a number of different designs out there. I have to slide my plates up a little then prise them out from the bottom.

AndrewD- am insanely jealous having followed some of your threads on PH! Good work!

I consider myself a fairly technical/hands-on person but I can’t seem to remove the plates off of the Jumbo plate holders installed by the previous owner.

There is no hole to put a pin, they don’t seem to move up or down so I can pry them off from the opposite direction, there is no slider at the bottom.

Anyone having used these kind of plates and can chip in before I simply break them off?

Got a photo?

Tom

Thank you, I just removed them with brute-force. Worst design ever. For the rear one I removed the whole support of the plate basically.

Now that I have them in my hands I can push the plate down and it comes out from the top side easily but while the support was mounted on the car it was impossible to make the plate move a single cm.
