How to replace a fuse

OMG! Stop trying pulling things out! That is not a fuse box. It's a circuit breaker. As was said, if #4 doesn't go back up even after you flip all of them down & flip them all back up, there is something else that is keeping #4 down.

The socket could be messed up or you could have tripped another breaker in the basement.

Don't go near that box with a screw driver! Call the landlord/regie/electrician.

we once had a similar issue, i think. we flipped all of the circuit breakers off and then all of them back on. but, given that you've gone after it with a screw driver, my advice might be too late.

I know it is a silly question, but hey been there done that.

Did you unplug the vaccum first?

We do.

We have breakers in the apartment, and fuses in the basement just after the meter.

AND, a month or so ago had the situation where a breaker got tripped and also blew one of the fuses, and thus no amount of resetting the breaker would return power, at which point I discovered the blown fuse, and replaced it.

SO, my money is on a blown main fuse (there should be three, one for each phase).

Tom

Thanks for the good advice! I could just fix my issue. English Forum rocks!!

Hello everyone. First of all sorry to bump in just like this withou even presenting myself!!

Does anyone know where to buy fuses at night time around Wettingen/Baden?

We just ran out of it, and lights went out 😔

Ouch.

Why did the fuse blow? Have you recified the problem?

Can you move a fuse from an unused circuit?

Knock at the neighbours, try the nearest gas station.

There used to be a fuse dispenser at the EWZ building downtown in Zurich, but that is probably long gone.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

Yes it was a bulb flipping. I just removed it. I figure that the only circuit using the same kind of fuse will prevent us from having electricity if I replace them.

Thanks again for your support.

Cheers

No - but maybe you have candles or a large lantern?

Welcome to the forum.

Ahahah

Neither...but we have phone flashlights!!

Thank you so much 😂

Or catch some glowjupiters and put them in a jar. Put some holes in the lid so they can breath.

You could cook fondue by the light of your phones and (provided you have the blue paste to light the burner) eat really really really slowly - you'd have light until tomorrow morning

On second thought, if you have an oven, does the light within it work? If so, you could bake something with the light on and hang out in the kitchen while doing that

Prepping stuff in the dark might be a problem, though.

Spoilsport.

Ahahah I did it all...

Now just wanted to watch "the killing" on tv 😂😂😂

Have a great ordinary electricity filled night everyone!

And again thanks for such a warm welcome 👌🏻👍🏻🎉
