I booked some flights for summer 2020 with Easyjet. Mainly due to covid I have changed the dates and destinations multiple times. I have been asked to pay small amounts for fare differences on a couple of occasions.
I now want to change them again and again there is again a fare difference. Looking at the flights, the fares are not high. I'm sure I must have already paid that much.
However, The original email confirmation only has the total price (not a breakdown by leg) and I don't seem to have a record of the differences I paid since. Seems there is no way to check if you really should be paying a fare difference.
Prob nothing I can do now - but in future I will be taking screen shots of fare by leg when making bookings.

Booking flights new would cost 238.54, yet Easy jet are telling me there is a 100 franc fare difference. But without being able to compare specific legs, I can't really question it.
I had the same problem. In my case I booked two seats for my daughter's and changed my wife and my flights to that flight. My daughter's flights cost less than 100 each. I had to pay an additional 75 for each of our flights, bring the total to nearly 400.
I checked the breakdown and the outward leg for my daughter's was 45. 55 for the return. For my wife and I 325 for the outward leg and 55 for the return.
I challenged easyJet about this. The first lady agreed that it was weird, and sought clarification. The answer was easyJet don't have a fixed price
Basically, when you change your flights with the no fee for changes agreement, they just add it directly to the first flight. Nothing you can do about it, and a bit untransparent!
They kind of have me, as it's still cheaper than booking new flights and especially as I already added a bag to the original booking.
You can request a "payment confirmation" or vat invoice which should list the cost of each separate flight or additional option booked.
I had to get one for an insurance claim to prove a fight purchase from +2 years ago after it was rescheduled several times due to COVID.

Most airlines will debit you the fare difference for a leg if it's in their favour and swallow it if it's in your favour. This is buried in their terms and conditions.
So if you have made many changes, you have been getting no benefit of positive ( for you ) differences on a leg but you have been penalised every time it's unfavourable and so it's been adding up.
Not so long ago EasyJets tickets were non refundable. If you didn’t use them as booked at best you could get the taxes back less any administration fee (which was often more than the tax refund).
Now, following pressure from governments and Covid you now can at least change and claw back some of the money you initially paid.

What miffed me is that they promised free changes during covid instead of their usual admin fee. But they simply add the admin fee to the price of the new tickets. No difference to them, but it makes for better PR.
