I read all the EF topics in regards to importing a car from EU to CH, all of the posts give different information, or are outdated and include links which do not exist anymore. Are the steps that I want to do correct, or did I miss something?
1) Find the car, get in touch with the dealer, agree on the 19% tax return
2) Ask the dealer for a temporary (1 month) insurance and temporary license plates
3) The dealer should provide the Eur1 form and the COC form (EC Certificate of Conformity)
4) Drive the car to the customs, where I should present the DE customs the Export documents (which would be given by the dealer) once it is stamped, it is done.
5) I go to the CH customs with the electronically made Import registration using the (e-doc)
6) I pay the 4% and thr 7.7% for the import and the custom duties ~ 200 CHF (do I pay everything on the spot, or will they send me an ebill?)
7) I take the car to strassenverkehrsamt for an MFK test
8) I can skip the CO2 test since the car is from 2019 and has been registered more than 6 months in EU (is this correct)
9) Once I get the MFK, I get a CH insurance and I can get my license plates ( which are at strassenverkehrsamt, since I sold my old car recently)
Process complete...
Did I miss anything?
Can I drive with the temporary license plates and temporary insurance within CH / Europe?
