Import Vehicle When Moving to Switzerland

Yes, after some struggle I figured out the RMP thing.

The car is not old, it's a 2018 Toyota and I was surprised about the emission certificate and COC. I will give them a call to clarify this, I hope this will not be needed after all.

Ok so a bit of good news - with the acquired CoC (total of almost €200...) I was able to get everything started and get an appointment for a technical inspection (a month from now, seems a bit long to me).

Is this inspection the dreadful MFK to which I have to get the car super clean etc, or just a simple inspection to see if everything is working?

This is the full MfK. The car has to be reasonably clean, including the chassis underneath as they can check for rust and leaks. Even when the car is brand new from a dealership when importing, they require a full check.

OK thanks. I will definitely get it cleaned and will check if there are any leaks etc. (but don't think so as the car is relatively young).

Let's see how it goes, I heard/read weird stuff about this inspection and apparently it's a lottery, either you pass with no problems or you fail because the Wunderbaum doesn't smell anymore.

So that was easy... I just took the car to the carwash, cleaned the engine bay a bit and that's it - Swiss plates are already on my car. Now only thing left is to wait for the bill...

Thanks everyone for helping out with this.
