Indication of an institution to open account.

Hi, I'm looking for a bank to open an account next month.

Basically I need a credit card to me and another to my wife, and would like to choose a bank with good app and interface to use. If it's possible with low or zero monthly charges.

Any recommendations?

The list of banks HR send to me was:

- St. Gallen Kantonalbank

- Migros Bank

- Reiffeisenbank

- PostFinance

- UBS

Do you have solid digital bank option?

Also think about language when you need support. A website in English does not mean you will get support or even pass by the local office and get service in English.

I'm an idiot that pays UBS for account and CC. Quite sure others will be proud of paying less, but I made their lives easier by calling myself an idiot. They don't need to do it

Pricing it’s a bit of a nightmare to compare among banks.

I pay about 31 CHF per month for both account and CC. What I get from the account: clean and simple internet website, good support for SWIFT payments tracking, support in EN and FR, 2 cash disposals in other bank’s ATMs in CH and abroad included. From the CC: higher than basic credit line, some insurances I’ve never used (rental car crash, internet shopping, etc), a few free priority pass airport lounges admissions. Conditions: more than 10K CHF on the account.

You may or may not care about cash disposals in Italy or Portugal, credit limit, or Priority Pass lounges, but think first about being able to speak with bank employees to solve any issue, take a look at this story https://www.reddit.com/r/askswitzerl…s_a_foreigner/

PS. everything is slow around here. Expect 1-2 weeks between the day you start and the day your whole setup is ready.
