Can anyone recommend a good language school in Zurich for this? I’ve read some older posts recommending Bellingua, but also came across another named Vox Sprachschule which has a “super intensive” stream that aims to cover one complete level within one month. Has anyone done that course and how did you find it? Would love to hear of others’ experiences with any other school also! thank you.
I have 6-8 weeks off soon and hope to spend this time doing an intensive German language course in Zurich (based in Oerlikon but happy to travel around within reasonable distance). I have done 10 private lessons so far on italki online (= 10 hours) and have progressed really well from zero German and surpassed my own expectations, but am looking to get in a group course so that I am forced to speak German more and be able to study with fellow aspiring German speakers to keep me on my toes. I would like to get to C1 as fast as I can as I need it to be able to work in Switzerland, so am pretty motivated! Happy to pay more for a good quality course with smaller class sizes.

I spent a full year st Bellingua and passed C2 after their C1 course. Highly recommend. One of the main reason for me was that they offer money back guarantee if you don’t pass respective level at Goethe.

I did all my German progress at Hallo Deutschule. It is a really good school located 5min from Zürich HB. I highly recommend it.
I ended up taking the intensive classes at Bellingua for two months and can highly highly recommend it. It’s definitely one of the more pricey options but I had heard they were strict with grammar and I did not want to compromise on a good foundation in grammar. There was also the added benefit (and stress) of a weekly test to keep me on my toes. The group was max 5 of us and the test made sure that everyone was pretty much at the same level, as Bellingua are quite serious about you not being able to progress to the following week of classes if you do not pass the test held at the end of each week on Fridays. my partner was really impressed by my command at the end of 9-10 weeks of classes; I am not a “language” person either. In Bellingua A1 (8 weeks) is very grammar intensive and it is only from A2 onwards that you get a bitmore speaking practice but that was fine with me. would have continued until C1/2 if I did not have to go back to work!
