Has anyone found a place that will do glass replacement on an iPhone - in Basel...
When I was in the US I found a "while you wait" replacement for $100. Not sure if there is a slim chance something similar exists here.

There's a place that has a little ad board right next to the Rheingasse tram-stop near Mittlerebrücke (on the same side of the street as McDonalds, but where you'd wait for the tram), that mentions replacing smartphone screens.
I can't remember what it's called, but it's fairly clear because the board is in the middle of the path.
I have a friend who does that kind of work, and computer repair. He is fast, and less expensive then most you will find in Switzerland, and he is Swiss. But, he is closer to Zurich. I don't suppose you would be traveling thru in the next few days or so?
Also he speaks English and a few other languages as well.
He also does this service through the mail, or in person of course.

Sure you can replace the glass fairly cheaply..
But the apple store will replace the handset with a factory refurb for not much over 100chf. Essentially a new phone, worth considering especially if you have some scratches etc.
Make sure you have a full backup before going instore because they will offer to replace right there and then,

I ended up going to
for convenience (it is near Barfusserplatz) - but it did cost 200chf which I felt was a bit expensive. That being said - all done in 1.5hrs.

Unbelievable. I had my glass replaced when I went back to visit family in the UK.
Twenty pound paid while I waited 30mins.
Yes - US was 100USD (so still quite a bit more than you paid) - but 200chf was painful.
And the replaced glass/screen is same quality like original?

Many places, just walk around barfuserplatz you will find some. You will be expected to pay alot though, sometimes its even worth just buying new phone..in england..much cheaper. Swiss..as usual op. Good luck!
