I suspect you're right in that the term 'genius' is somewhat misleading

At least, thanks to the EF, I know it can be done, and I'll just have to check it out and install the best system when I'm back in Lausanne.

I'll buy an ipad before I leave, but maybe not from the Apple store.

Try John Lewis. I believe they participate in the VAT refund scheme and they sell iPads.

Last time I checked, the price of IPads in the UK, even with VAT refund, were hardly cheaper than here in Switzerland. Seems hardly worth the bother in my opinion.
