After paying 50 CHF to extend the deadline to 30 September, I find myself scrambling to get it done by tomorrow! I also noticed I’d made a mistake in the UK tax return that I’d submitted and now I’ll have to re-file that too!
No, but shouldn’t it be free to extend ? I did mine the first time by myself this year [with new login / google translated] but when I extended I remember it was free … either way → good luck
Nope do mine in March. Have all the info already on spreadsheets so just a matter of copying it on to the paper filings and sending it off with all the supporting documents.
I think it is only free if you extend already before February/March. But again this may differ per Kanton.
I filed earlier this week, had an extension till the end of September.
It varies between cantons. Here it is free to extend a couple of months, but 50 chf to extend to September.
It was a bit annoying as I normally have time to do it in Jan/Feb but after that I don’t have so much time and I didn’t get the code to the system until a bit later.
We always extend till Nov 30 (kt Zurich), and it doesn’t cost anything, but we are charged interest on anything we have due. We request the extension as soon as we get the info at the start of the year. C permits, so no tax at source, either. I am usually done with it (I do the filing) first half of November.
That’s why I was asking, because I also extended mine until max possible [November] and it was free to do this on my city council’s site [gemeinde]
Started at 9am and still not done. I think I will have to finish it in the morning. I was logged in so long, my internet session expired and I had to long back in part way through entering the information! At least I found all the paperwork now!
Judging by how much the tax website was slowing down, there were plenty of other people doing their tax returns today.
After a few heart-attack-inducing panics arising from missing documents, I finally submitted the thing.
Must get more organised next year (which I say every year!)
All post offices are crazy too! Everybody is sending in their tax returns!
Congrats
But you know, that if nothing major changes … you just import the situation from last year and play a bit with a couple docs … and numbers
I file for extension to September every year and every year I finally get to it in the last week of the month… Luckily I had already done most of it earlier but still…
Yeah. The main problem is trying to find all the bits of paper I ‘filed away’. And this year I managed to buy stupid shares not listed on the system, so I had to manually enter all the details.
And traditional people paying their monthly bills (when they walk around with little yellow booklets you know).
General rule here: Stay away from post-offices 25th until 31st of the month.
