I'm about to accept a new job offer and I plan to take one month of unpaid leave in between contracts (i.e. I would stop working for my current employer on 30 Sep and begin working for my my new employer on 1 Nov). I am currently a B permit holder.
Your employment-provided -accident insurance lasts for 31 days after ending your work contract.

Otherwise, i don’t think it matters unless your new job start gets delayed, or if it’s right when you are renewing your papers.

In principle:
- your accident insurance from your employer will only last 31 days after termination (but check with your HR to be sure). It is often possible to extend this up to 6 months by paying the premium yourself (which will likely be cheaper then getting accident insurance via health insurance, and you do not have any deductible).
- you disability / death insurance via your pension also will only last a month after termination. Again check with your HR to be sure, and whether it is possible to extend if necessary. Otherwise you need to register with RAV to get continued insurance coverage (or you take out your own insurance for these risks).
