Is parking your bicycle underneath a sign illegal?

I like the way you think.

Maybe even padlock some of the aforementioned bikes to the sign AND his precious frigging boats.

Definitely not a private fence no. His business was some 250m further down the lake. If I had parked on the fence right next to his business I might have figured out he was the idiot who locked it. As it was I had no clue and just waited it out till Mr Moron came along.

After I told him bluntly that he was an fffing idiot he tried to take down the number on my bike vignette. No idea what he was hoping to achieve with that as you dont have to register them when you buy them at the post office. Yet another piece of evidence that told me I was dealing with someone of an other worldly mind.

If it was near me, I would organise a "Occupy the darn sign" sit in...

As for the guy taking down your vignette number, he is just bluffing. There is zilch he can do.

What I would do in this instance, is to whip out my iPhone and take his photo.

I did that once, when an idiot went against traffic (in car park) and tried to snatch away a lot which I was waiting for. I did not budge, and instead came out, took his photo and he quietly backed off. He was initially horning his horn and waving his arms...

Magic of photo evidence.

A last years vignette? LOL, that thingy has no value at all (apart from collectors). Mr. M lives definitively in an other world and age.

I once locked my bike to a dog's tail.

When I returned the dog (and the bike) were gone.

It was only later that I realised my foolishness. The dog was a labradoodle and a prime target for dognapping. My bike would have just been "collateral damage" to these determined dog thieves.

WTF is the coffee!?

I almost 'Thanked' this post but refrained as it might have damaged my reputation as an honest, law-abiding, upstanding citizen. I'm glad I don't live in Lugano though, as the temptation to 'do-it-myself' might have been too great.

Hello Paul,

Could you please post a photo of where this happened?

I'm torn between apology and aggression and I'd like to understand who's in the wrong before making judgment.

Thanks

Harry

Is this so? Then you should perhaps change your location from Zug to ...?

I didn't take any photo at the time - my error. If I am ever in Lugano again I will find the spot and if the sign is still there I will take a photo and post it here.
