He's not the greatest even of this generation in my book. Nadal beat Federer to win wimbledon in three tries. Federer got his three tries against Nadal at Roland Garros and couldn't beat Nadal. Nadal has a 5-2 record over Federer in Grand Slam finals. Need I say more?
I'll grant this though, that he's the most consistent player in history with that freakishly ridiculous record of 22 consecutive grand slam semifinals appearances.
Those stats are misleading. Nadal has not managed to get to more finals and thus has not given Fed a chance to beat him (given their seeding, they can only meet in finals). If Nadal managed to make it to more finals, then I am sure that the 5-2 record would lean a bit more towards Federer.
This explains why Nadal has a better head to head record as well. Simply because Federer has made it to more clay court finals than Nadal making it to non-clay court finals.
It doesn't have to be hollywood. It just has to be someone believable and a person people can relate to. Not the crying robot roger. Its like he cries to make us think he's human
The greatest sportsmen/women and the legends of the game are not necessarily the best players.
Boring for some, interesting to others. For me he is quite a lively person, maybe i am influenced a bit here by where i come from, just like the people at the opposite end of the spectrum are too. I am sure there are plenty of people that relate to him.
Greatest tennis player of all time?(i like to think so), personally i feel we need to wait till the end of his tennis career to make that judgement.
P.S
Today's Aussie Open: The Scotsman will have his share of Grand Slam titles in the years to come.
I thought we're talking about the greatest tennis player, not the tennis player with the most interesting private life ? He entertains on the court, I am not enough of a gossip girl to care about the rest.
